Sorority Chapter Disbanded At University Of Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - Kappa Alpha Theta's Eta chapter at the University of Michigan has been disbanded after more than 135 years.

The action was taken by the sorority's national organization.

The chapter was suspended earlier this year for violations that included underage drinking and hazing. It also went through a review panel.

The Michigan Daily campus newspaper has reported that April 28 is the deadline for members to move out of the sorority house in Ann Arbor.

Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity had its charter revoked at the university last year by its international board after thousands of dollars in damage was done to a northern Michigan ski lodge.
