Son, 2nd Man Charged In Fatal Farmington Hills Bat Attack
FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ/AP) - A 19-year old Farmington Hills man has been charged with first degree murder in the baseball bat beating death of his father.
Bond was denied for Tucker Robert Cipriano and 20-year-old Mitchell Jordan Young, each charged with one count of first-degree premeditated murder and one count of first-degree felony murder in the death of Robert Cipriano, killed Monday night at his family home.
In addition, each has been charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder for the beatings of Cipriano's mother, Rosemary, and his 17-year-old brother, Salvatore Cipriano. They've also been charged with armed robbery.
Both men were arraigned via video monitor Wednesday afternoon before Judge Marla E. Parker in 47th District Court. Cipriano was silent during the hearing, while broke down in hystarical tears. "I'm not guilty," Young wailed. "I didn't do any of this.
During the arraignment Young put his head down on the table and sobbed before entering his plea.
The two friends will remain in custody at the Oakland County Jail until a preliminary examination set for Friday morning.
Tucker Cipriano was arrested Monday, a few hours after his father was killed. His mother and brother remained hospitalized in critical condition Wednesday.
Another teen brother and an 8-year-old sister escaped without injury.
Both suspects had prior criminal records and Tucker Cipriano had recently been kicked out of his family's house following several run-ins with police. Police said he may have returned to the home looking for money. .
Roberto Cipriano, 52, was known to many as a leader in the local educational community. He had served as business services director for Dearborn Public Schools since 2002. A spokesman for the district said that while there may have been typical family challenges, no one could predict such a violent end.
