Some Flights From Metro Cancelled Ahead Of Hurricane
DETROIT (WWJ) - Hurricane Irene looks like it's making a bee-line for North Carolina, which is under a hurricane warning. Watches extend all the way to New Jersey, and flight cancellations because of Irene stretch well beyond there.
The storm will likely force hundreds of cancellations through this weekend and create delays that could ripple across the country.
As of Friday morning, Delta Airlines reported four cancellations, United Airlines reported one and American Airlines has cancelled 126 flights. Amtrak is also cancelling most passenger service south of Washington D.C. through this weekend.

Forecasters say Irene has weakened to a Category 2 storm as it approaches the East Coast.
