Snyder In Iowa To Meet Chinese Delegation
LANSING (WWJ/AP) - Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder is in Iowa for a welcome reception and dinner for China's vice president and a delegation of Chinese officials and business leaders.
The event is scheduled for the Iowa state capitol in Des Moines on Wednesday evening. The event will include about 175 Chinese officials, hundreds of Iowa lawmakers and court justices, university and college presidents, business and cultural leaders, the Des Moines Register reported.
Vice President Xi Jinping is among the guests expected at the event. He is expected to become China's next leader in 2013.
Snyder made a trade trip to China, Japan and South Korea last year, his first as Michigan's governor. Read more, here.
