Snyder: DEQ Actions Lacked Common Sense; 2 At Michigan DEQ Facing Discipline
LANSING (WWJ) - Two more people at the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality are facing discipline for their role in the Flint Water Crisis. Confidence in the DEQ is apparently low - in both Flint and in Lansing as two more employees have been suspended while an investigation continues.
Governor Rick Snyder released a statement saying:
"Some DEQ actions lacked common sense and that resulted in this terrible tragedy in Flint."
As it came out in the Wednesday's email dump, Governor Snyder continued to back the DEQ even after initial concerns were raised in January 2015.
It wasn't until late December 2015 when it was decided that DEQ head Dan Wyant was a political liability and they called for his resignation while firing several others.
