Smoke Fills Sky After Building Fire In Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) - A dark, hazy cloud of smoke hung over a southwest Detroit neighborhood Tuesday morning, after firefighters battled a two-alarm blaze at a commercial building.
WWJ's Ron Dewey reports the fire took off around 3 a.m. in what was apparent vacant industrial building on Hammond Street, near the Livernois and Michigan Avenue area.
Firefighters remained on the scene hours after the blaze was contained, pouring water on smoldering hot spots.
There were no reports of injuries or what may have caused the fire.
Officials say an investigation is ongoing.
