Smartphone App Lets Parents Track Trick-Or-Treaters

DETROIT (WWJ) - If you're trying to decide whether it's safe to stay home and rest while your children are out trick-or-treating, there's an app to secure peace of mind.

Put your worries at ease with the year-round child locator tracking app Trick or Tracker, created by Iconosys Inc., which uses GPS to accurately reveal your children's location.

The app was developed last year, but it gets even better in 2012 with an upgrade.

For this Halloween season, the all-new version of Trick-or-Tracker (3.0)  includes a new safety compass that shows your children where you are and points them toward home. It will also include live tracking wallpaper for your phone.

Trick or Tracker 3.0's features will also allow you to set a trigger point with Iconosys' Latchkey Kid app at your front yard or door and/or when your kids return home from trick-or-treating, you will be notified via text message. You can also set up a geo-fence up with Iconosys' Guards Up app, which lets you know if your child travels outside an allowable perimeter.

Your child's phone must be an Android OS phone for optimal usage, but any Google maps-loaded phone (including iPhone, Blackberry, or Windows Phone 8) will work using a simple manual process. For best results, Iconosys recommends that both phones should be Android phones.

Trick or Tracker 3.0 is now available for download from this website or on app stores. The app costs $4.99 for a lifetime license.
