Small Plane Crash Lands At Grosse Ile Airport
GROSSE ILE (WWJ) - A small plane crashed late Thursday afternoon at Grosse Ile Airport.
The FAA's Elizabeth Isham Coury told WWJ Newsradio 950 the small single engine aircraft crashed on landing when the left side of its landing gear collapsed.
Coury said the FAA will investigate.
"What we look at is all aspects of the event. Was the plane properly maintained? Was the plane properly licensed? Was the pilot properly trained? Was the pilot properly licensed? Were the rules of flight followed? Those are the areas under our regulatory responsibility that we look at," Coury said.
The pilot was the only person on board.
There are reports that the pilot was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
