"Slows To Go" Sandwich Gets Double Take From Travel Channel

DETROIT (WWJ) - The Travel Channel's Adam Richman is on a mission to find the nation's best sandwich.

WWJ Newsradio 950's Marie Osborne says his travels have brought him right here to the motor city.

The buzz started late last week, when Adam Richman, was paying a visit to 'Slows To Go' in Detroit's New Center area, the popular restaurant's Yardbird sandwich had made it to the list of about 30 sandwiches that Richman identified as among the best in the country.

The creation is the brainchild of co-owner and chef Brian Perone. "The Yardbird is pulled smoked Amish chicken and our mustard sauce, cheddar cheese, topped with applewood bacon," said Parone.
