Gas Prices Spike Before Labor Day Holiday
DETROIT (WWJ) - AAA Michigan says gas prices have risen three cents during the past week to a statewide average of $3.93 per gallon ahead of the Labor Day holiday.
That's about 14 cents per gallon more than last year at this time -- with experts blaming pipeline repairs and refinery issues for the spike.
But that's not stopping holiday travelers. AAA says about 1.2 million state residents have Labor Day travel plans - with most expected to travel on the road.
