Sir Paul And Bruce Get Plug Pulled In London
The old saying rules are made to be broken obviously do not apply when two of rock and roll royalty come together. Paul McCartney was called on stage by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band during Saturday's performance at the Hard Rock Calling Festival in London's Hyde Park. The two performed the Beatles classic "I Saw Her Standing There" and the cover "Twist And Shout". However the festival has a 10:30 curfew so the sound was cut off after the concert went about 20 minutes past that curfew. The crowd which was standing in the rain obviously booed. E Street Band guitarist Steve Van Zandt was livid after the plug was pulled.
"The cops got nothing more important to do?" he wrote in a series of angry Tweets after the show. "How about they go catch some criminals instead of f***ing with 80,000 people having a good time? English cops may be the only individuals left on earth that wouldn't want to hear one more from Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney! We break curfews in every country but only English cops needs to 'punish us' by not letting us leave until the entire crowd goes."
