Sing Your Way To The Super Bowl With Marvin Winans
DETROIT (CBS Detroit) - Calling all aspiring gospel singers!
Detroiter and famed recording artist, the Rev. Marvin Winans is looking for someone to sing with him during a Super Bowl gospel concert in New Orleans
Winans, in partnership with the American Family Insurance Company, is conducting a competition to find the best singer.
"Anyone can go to the website and send in an audition for the opportunity to sing at the Super Bowl-sanctioned event," Winans told WWJ Newsradio 950's Stephanie Davis.
Winans will pick the winner who will not only perform during the concert, but record a song as well. "We're going to go into the studio and record it and then, probably, the winner will get in Super Bowl week, Wednesday or Thursday and then we'll record on Thursday, perform it on Friday," he said.
The competition has already begun and the winner will be selected January 18.
