Shirtless Judge Turns Down Offer To Pose For Calendar
DETROIT (WWJ) - The Wayne County judge who came under fire for sending half-nude photos of himself to an employee is getting offers to pose in front of the lens for a different cause.
Wayne County Circuit Judge Wade McCree landed in hot water over that bare-torso photo he sent to a married court employee -- whose husband saw the photo and apparently filed a complaint with the Judicial Tenure Commission.
Now the judge is getting a unique offer: to pose for his own a 12 month calendar.
"I can't believe that Men's Health or AARP monthly is going to want me for that, but it was a kind offer," McCree said with a laugh. "(The offer) came through my office and we had a hoot around the lunch table, I'll tell you that."
McCree maintains there was nothing sexual involved with the photo, although he does admit it was a lack of judgement.
The picture shows the very fit judge from the waist up taking his own picture in front of a mirror. "Yep, that's me. No shame in my game," McCree, who's married, said when confronted with the photo.
McCree earlier told Talk Radio 1270′s Charlie Langton he sent the photos because he wanted to show off the payoff of his efforts after running a marathon at 56-years-old. He said the picture was nothing more than how people would see him when he went swimming at the YMCA.
After news of the photo circulated through local media outlets and in forums online, McCree issued a public apology, saying he is embarrassed by a "serious mistake."
