Shaboozey to perform at halftime for Lions Thanksgiving game at Ford Field
(CBS DETROIT) — The surging Detroit Lions host the Chicago Bears at Ford Field on Thanksgiving, but that's not the only entertainment planned for the day.
On Sunday, the team announced six-time Grammy-nominated artist Shaboozey will perform at halftime.
His hit single "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" has been at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 longer than any other song and has been on the list for the past 29 weeks. He was recently named to Time's 100 Next List and nominated for two CMA Awards.
"Acclaimed singer-songwriter Shaboozey is building his own world while carving a lane in the alternative country and hip-hop space," the Lions said in a statement.
Shaboozey, born Collins Obinna Chibueze, was in Detroit on Nov. 6, supporting Jelly Roll on his "Beautifully Broken" tour.
This season will mark the 85th time the Lions have played on Thanksgiving. Last season, Detroit lost to the Green Bay Packers 29-22.
Kickoff for the NFC North battle is 12:30 p.m.
