Sewage pipe break leads to public health advisory in Macomb County
MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) - The Macomb County Health Department issued a public health advisory after a pipe break burst with raw sewage.
The pipe break happened Wednesday afternoon on Hayes Road in Washington Township, and local officials took steps to prevent the seeping of sewage toward the Middle Branch Clinton River by moving it out with trucks.
There is no threat to the public water supply, but Washington Township officials asked area residents to limit water usage while they dealt with the sewage situation. Repairs and the related road closure might last into Friday.
