2 Tornados Confirmed In Michigan
The National Weather Service confirms tornados touched down at the tip of Michigan's rural Thumb and in the Cadillac area of the northern Lower Peninsula. The weather service said Monday a weak tornado with 80 mile per hour winds hit the ground about 10:10 p.m. Sunday at Lighthouse County Park. It's in Huron County's Huron Township, about 70 miles east-northeast of Saginaw.
There was little reported damage in the tornado's two-mile path.
Another tornado with 65 mph winds touched down Sunday three miles south of Cadillac in Wexford County. It tore the roof off a building at a lumber yard.
Officials were checking Monday to see if damage in the Houghton Lake area was from a tornado or straight-line winds.
