Serial Bank Robber Wanted For Crimes Across 3 Counties [PHOTOS]
SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Police are looking for help to identify a suspected serial bank robber wanted for crimes in three Southeast Michigan counties.
In the latest incident, Southfield police say, the suspect — a lone back male — entered a Huntington Bank branch in the 2300-block of Greenfield Road at around 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
He did not appear to be armed and no weapon was implied, police said, as he handed a note to a teller demanding money. The teller complied and the robber left on foot.
No one was hurt.
Police called to the scene checked the area but didn't find the suspect.
The robber is believed to be between 50 and 60 years old, with a light to medium complexion, gray facial hair and several missing or crooked teeth, He was wearing a two-toned black and gray jacket with a yellow or orange zip-up hooded sweatshirt, gray knit hat, blue jeans, and white athletic shoes with black trim.
Police said the same suspect is believed to be responsible for several other bank robberies in 2015 in Oakland, Wayne, and Washtenaw counties.
Police on Tuesday released a surveillance photo of the suspect as an investigation continues.
Anyone who recognizes the man in the photo or who has any information about this case is urged to call Southfield police at 248-796-5500. Tipsters who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
