Dave Camp are planning a joint announcement Wednesday afternoon to push a bill for permanent closure of a Midwest waterway to halt spread of the Asian carp.Democratic Senator Carl Levin says a bipartisan group of 14 senators and 33 House members signed a letter Tuesday to President Barack Obama seeking "urgent steps to protect the Great Lakes'' from the invasive species.
The letter seeks an "aggressive strategy" for closing the artificial water link in Chicago between the Mississippi River and Great Lakes systems.
