Schwartz Shoulders Blame For Lions Skid

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — Detroit coach Jim Schwartz says the progress made last season, when the Lions reached the playoffs, has been sidetracked by its 4-10 record this year.

Schwartz said the blame for both the team's 38-10 loss at Arizona on Sunday and Detroit's losing record rests entirely with him. He said the team's focus over its final two games will be solely on its remaining opponents, and not on salvaging a season he believes has gone off the rails.

The Lions' 28-point margin of defeat was the worst in three years. Detroit has lost six consecutive games since defeating the Jaguars on Nov. 4. They host playoff-bound Atlanta on Saturday.
