Schwartz: "Our Biggest Win Hasn't Come Yet"

Jim Schwartz met with the media for his weekly news conference this afternoon. Below you will find quotes from the news conference pertaining to the play of Jeff Backus, the o-line and the run game.

"Well, we got a win which obviously is the objective, rather have a win and have things to improve on than have a loss."

"We can play better, you know obviously we took zero sack in first 2 games, we had one sack that someone ran the wrong route."

"We can play better, we can run the football better, that all doesn't fall on the o-line but the running back and tight ends as well."

"We need to be more effective at that position. When referring to the RT spot."

"I don't think that's an issue, the time where its disappointing for Jeff is the last series two false starts and that sack. Our QB got hit 7 times and maybe two of those were Jeff. He gets a lot of attention because he's the LT. Jeff takes a lot of pride in his play. Jeff can play better and will play better."

"Our biggest win hasn't come yet", when asked about the win over the Vikings.

"We don't need to have ticker tape parades over regular season wins and I think I still feel that way."

"We made 0 halftime adjustments. Halftime is really about reviewing and rest, getting a little Gatorade."

"We had a couple poor drives in the beginning and let Adrian Peterson break one. Holding to FGs is important. We have a high standard on defense we don't give pats on the back for held FGs."

"He's pretty good, dont really speak for the whole league but we have confidence in him. He can change the game, it was only a matter of time before he started making plays." When asked about Calvin Johnson.

"Yea they were having a little discussion and they needed to be reminded that it is regular season rules. The referee knew right away. I looked and I thought they had chosen to take a timeout."  In reference to his comments after the game.
