Schwartz On Stafford's Status: "We'll See How He Progresses Through The Week"

Detroit Lions Head Coach Jim Schwartz talked about Matthew Stafford's injured leg today at his weekly news conference and said "we'll see how he progresses throughout the week." Stafford injured his leg while trying to run down Alterraun Verner in the 4th quarter as he ran it in for a touchdown after stripping the ball from Brandon Pettigrew in the 4th quarter. Schwartz was also asked about Stafford's MRI in which he said, "no comment."

Schwartz also commented on the final play of the game yesterday during the OT period saying, "never really a consideration (to go for it on 4th down). Either kick the field goal or drive them offside's." Schwartz also said, ""What wasn't supposed to have any downside had downside."

Among other topics asked to coach was the health of Ben Graham and his status for Sunday and if the team signed former punter Nick Harris who was in town to work out for the team declined to comment.
