Schwartz Not Impressed By Play During Lions Opening Win

DETROIT (WWJ) - Despite a Detroit Lions win Sunday, coach Jim Schwartz still wants to see more from his team.

You wouldn't have known that the Detroit Lions had won on Sunday by the way head coach Jim Schwartz was talking about his team after the game reports WWJ's Rhonda Moss.

"We couldn't have played any worse, I mean, I thought we played poor," said Schwartz.

Twenty-four hours after the season opening win over the Tampa Bay Buccanners, Schwartz had softened his approach just a little:

"We could have played a lot worse, we did some good things in the game, we also did some bone-headed things that almost cost us to lose the game," said Schwartz.

If you think he's backing down from calling Gosder Cherilus unsportsmanlike penalty stupid, think again.

"If you think stupid is a harsh word for that play, to me I consider that pretty mild," he said.
