Scam Alert For Huntington Bank Customers
(CBS Detroit) Huntington Bank is warning customers -- and non-customers -- not to respond to fraudulent text messages requesting information about their Huntington debit card.
The text messages advise the recipients to call and provide confidential information in order to unblock or reactivate their debit cards.
Some examples are below:
Huntington Bank alert. Debit card locked. Call XXX-XXX -XXXX to unlock it.
Alert please call (XXX)XXX-XXXX
Your card has been locked. Call XXX-XXX.XXXX to unlock it
What should you do if you get one of these messages? Do not respond. Forward the text message to IDTheft@ huntington.com, and delete the message from your mobile device.
If you have already responded to the message and provided information, contact Huntington National Bank Customer Service immediately at 1-800-480-BANK (2265).
Note: Huntington National Bank officials said they do not contact customers via email, phone, or text message to request or verify personal or company information, including account numbers, passwords, personal identification numbers (PINs), Social Security numbers, or Tax ID numbers for security or any other purposes.
