Sara's Blog: Was The Lottery Fixed For A Sports Anchor?

Supposedly it is all above board, but there was quite a bit of shock when a TV station in Canada did a lottery drawing on live TV and the winner turned out to be...the station's sports anchor! The lottery benefited the British Columbia Children's Hospital and it turns out that Barry Deley (the sports guy) had a daughter who was a patient there seven years ago. Barry wasn't in studio on the day of the drawing, so the two news anchors called him live to figure out if this was really happening. The drawing is at 1:30 and they tell him he won at 2:48.

You can tell that the male news anchor (Squire Barnes) is 100% jealous of his good pal Barry. The Deley family gets to choose from five different prizes, including an estate worth $2.5 million or $2 million in cash. Barry is one lucky guy, his chances of winning were 1 in 288,000!
