Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign Hits The Road
DETROIT (WWJ) - The Salvation Army has kicked off its annual Red Kettle campaign.
The Salvation Army's Metro Detroit Commander, Major Mark Anderson, who says they're optimistic about reaching their goal.
"This year, we've set a goal of $8.2 million and that goal will not only help us help families across Detroit through the holiday season, but it will help us throughout the year," said Anderson.
"We were able to announce that Quicken Loans put the first $50,000 in the kettle. They really want to make a difference in Detroit and so many other corporations and individuals are stepping forward at this time," said Anderson. "We're just really anticipating reaching that goal and being able to hit it."
Donations can be made at red kettles through Christmas Eve, but can be made to the Salvation Army through January.
