Saginaw Police Arrest Man Wanted In Detroit For Fatal Shooting

DETROIT (WWJ) - A man wanted for two murders in Detroit is in custody after he walked into a Saginaw hospital seeking treatment Wednesday night.

Saginaw Police say  27-year old Santana Smith was arrested Thursday morning after he sought treatment for depression at Covenant Medical Center.

Smith was wanted in connection with an alleged triple shooting that left two men dead and one seriously injured Wednesday night on Detroit's southwest side.

Detroit Police Homicide Investigators say Smith was inside of a house on Littlefield when he supposedly began firing shots, striking three men, ages 20, 22 and 28. Smith fled after the shooting and the victims were taken to a local hospital once police arrived. Police say the 20-year-old and the 28-year-old died from their injuries.
