AUDIO: Safety Of Detroit's Children Noted In President's Inaugural Address
WASHINGTON D.C. (WWJ) - President Obama giving a quick shout-out to Detroit during his inaugural address, while making a reference curbing gun violence.
"Our journey is not complete until all our children - from the streets of Detroit to the hills of Apalachee to the ... lanes of Newtown know that they are cared for and cherished," said President Obama.

While people from all across the county, including metro Detroit, were on hand as President Obama read the oath of office for his second term.
"... you could just feel the sense of history ... it was a moving moment to be here with all of these people but they were glued to the president ... they just wanted to hear and see the president," said WWJ's Charlie Langton.
Langton, who was in the crowd as the festivities were underway in the nation's capitol, said the event felt non-partisan.
