Ryan Gosling Film Seeking 'Feral' Local Child
DETROIT (CBS Detroit) Sometimes they're known as problem children, other times they're apparently stars.
Superstar hunk Ryan Gosling's 'How to Catch a Monster' film -- which will be filmed in Detroit, has announced it's seeking a small child, 2-3 years old, for a role.
He should be able to play a "feral-like" character who gets into plenty of trouble.
"How to Catch a Monster" is described as a modern-day fairytale that combines elements of horror and suspense, set against the backdrop of a "vanishing city."
Gosling, who also wrote the screenplay, reportedly scouted southeast Michigan locations for the movie last summer. The producers have applied for the state's tax incentives.
There was an online casting call for several key parts in January where people interested in being a part of the film were urged to submit videos for the roles of "Bones," "Frankie" and "Face."
This time, the film seeks a child who can play a quiet boy with an expressive face and obvious imagination. The character, Frankie, is described as "Caucasian or bi-racial (must be half Caucasian)."
