Royal Oak Continues Moratorium Against Growing Medical Marijuana
Following action last night by Royal Oak City Commissioners, you still cannot grow medical marijuana in that suburb.
A moratorium has been extended until February. That's expected to give commissioners time to take a closer look at all the potential benefits and pitfalls of growing pot in their city for medicinal purposes. Greg Pawloski was among the medical marijuana supporters protesting outside city hall Monday.
"The outright denial of a patient's rights - or a human beings right - to be able to take the medication they wish to ... so they can have a better way of life, that is just ridiculous," Pawloski told WWJ Newsradio 950.
A majority of Royal Oak residents who voted on the state ballot proposal in 2008 were in favor of medical marijuana.
