Royal Oak Bank Robber Identified, Arrested
ROYAL OAK (WWJ) - A 29-year-old Warren man is being held in connection with the robbery of a Royal Oak bank Wednesday afternoon.
According to Royal Oak Police Lt. Thomas Goad, the man was arrested, with the help of FBI agents, at his job late Wednesday night after investigators received a tip.
FBI Special Agent Bob Beeckman said the suspect entered a Bank of America branch on 13 Mile Road, immediately drawing a handgun, approached the teller window and demanded cash. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot to his getaway vehicle, a silver Toyota Prius.
The suspect's name was not immediately disclosed. Charges are expected by the end of the week.
