'Routine' Traffic Stop Turns Into Police Chase
GROSSE POINTE FARMS (WWJ) - Police will always tell you: "There's no such thing as a routine traffic stop."
That was the case Monday evening when Grosse Pointe Farms Police attempted to stop a speeding vehicle, traveling along Mack Avenue. And it didn't take long for several other communities to get involved in the pursuit.
When it was all over, near the intersection of Mack and Cadillac, the suspect vehicle had crashed into another vehicle, injuring two people.
Detroit Police assisted at the scene of the crash.
Police arrested a 36-year old Harper Woods man. According to family members, the suspect has mental issues.
No officers were hurt in the chase or crash of the suspect vehicles.
