Roseville Police Search For Missing Elderly Couple
ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - Police in Roseville are seeking the public's help in locating an elderly couple who went missing after grocery shopping.
Police say 85-year-old Vincenzo Lipiccollo and his 84-year-old wife Maria were last seen around 10 a.m. Friday after shopping at a local food market at 14 Mile Road and Groesbeck Highway in Clinton Township.
According to police, the couple was seen leaving the market with Vincenzo Lipiccollo driving their 2004 Pontiac Grand Am with Michigan license plate BLA-4494. The vehicle is burgundy in color and is described as being in mint condition.
After shopping, the couple was expected to return to their home in the Frazho and Gratiot area of Roseville, but never arrived.
Vincenzo Lipiccollo is described as 5-foot 8-inches, 180 lbs. with salt and pepper hair. Maria Lipiccollo is described as 5-foot 6-inches, 190 lbs. with brown hair.
Roseville Police Chief James Berlin said both are described as in good health and have no history of leaving home for any extended period without notifying family members.
"According to the family, a very tight-knit family, they always communicate. Basically, they don't leave home without telling the family where they're going. And that's what they did yesterday, they were supposed to go to the market and then come home. They did go to the market but they, unfortunately, have not returned home as of yet," he said.
Berlin said Maria and Vincenzo Lipiccollo are both Italian immigrants and speak minimal English, making communication difficult.
Anyone who might know the couple's whereabouts or has seen their vehicle is asked to contact Roseville police at 586-447-4583.
