Roseville Bank Robber Strikes Again

UPDATE 4:30PM: Suspect arrested

ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - For the second time in three days, a bank robber has struck in the city of Roseville.

Early Friday afternoon, a suspect now identified as Daniel Stacy Galeener robbed the Comerica Bank branch at Groesbeck Highway and 12 Mile Road at gunpoint. Galeener is also believed to have robbed the Fifth Third Bank branch at Gratiot Avenue and Maryland Street early Monday afternoon.

In both robberies, police said Galeener entered the bank, handed a note to the teller stating he had a gun and demanded money. In both instances, Galeener wielded a blue steel revolver and pointed it at the bank teller to ensure compliance with his demands, according to police.

During Monday's robbery, an anti-theft dye pack included with the stolen money exploded and contaminated the cash, so Galeener left the bag in the bank parking lot. It is believed that after being thwarted in this robbery, Galeener proceeded to Clinton Township where he robbed another bank, police said.

Galeener is currently suspected in at least one other local bank robbery and is being looked at as a possible suspect in several other out-of-state robberies.

Galeener is described as a 55-year-old white male, about 5'5" tall and 130 lbs. with gray hair and a very gaunt appearance. He might be wearing glasses.

Anyone with information on Galeener's whereabouts is urged to contact Roseville police at 586-447-4483.
