Romulus Police Investigate Murder, Look For Victim's Car
Romulus (WWJ)– Romulus police are investigating the murder of a man and looking for his 1999 yellow Ford Mustang convertible.
Police responded to a home on Springhill Street, near Middlebelt and Eureka Roads, just after 1 p.m. Saturday after a 911 call. The caller told the dispatcher he visited the home to check on his father and found him laying face down on the bathroom floor with his hands tied behind his back and a plastic bag on his head.
Responding officers discovered an apparent crime scene, including the dead man who is about 57 years old. The bedroom had been ransacked.
The man's yellow Mustang, which has a license plate of BKA 5920, was also missing.
Police are asking anyone who may have information about the case, or who may see the vehicle to call their department at 734-941-8400.
Romulus investigators and forensic scientists from the Michigan State Police Northville Crime Laboratory are processing the crime scene on Springhill, according to a statement from police.
An autopsy will be conducted by the Wayne County Medical Examiner's office to determine a cause of death.
The victim's name hasn't been released.
