Roll Over Accident On I-275
FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) - Traffic was hindered for Friday morning commuters as a serious wreck on southbound I-275 near 8 Mile Road closed the left two lanes.
Reporting live and local from the scene of the accident, WWJ's Mike Campbell said a PT Cruiser was involved in a single vehicle roll over crash just before 5 am Friday.
"Apparently it rolled over more than once at least and probably went airborne... I say that because the car has cleared the two guide wire guard rail and a steel guard rail and ended up in the median between the north and southbound lanes," Campbell said.
Wreckers pulled the car from the median as police completed their accident investigation. Traffic was backed up about a half mile for nearly two hours. The road has since reopened.
Police say two people were transported to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries.
