Rodriguez's Future Still Hanging In Balance

The drama is not over. University of Michigan Football Coach Rich Rodriguez and Athletic Director David Brandon are scheduled to meet again today, with Rodriguez's job hanging in the balance.

Today's meeting follows Tuesday's marathon closed-door session everyone's been following between Rodriguez and Brandon.

Mike Stone, morning co-host of CBS Radio station 97.1 The Ticket, thinks all signs are pointing to Rodriguez being gone. He's asking why the school is waiting so long to make up its mind.

"Worst case scenario is he (Brandon) believes he has somebody and just waits and waits and then realizes he doesn't have 'em and that does nothing but just brings back Rich Rodriguez," Stone told WWJ Newsradio 950.

Rodriguez is 15-22 after three seasons at Michigan. If he is fired, Michigan would owe him $2.5 million to buy out the final three years of his contract.

WWJ Newsradio 950 and CBS Detroit.com will continue to follow this story and will report the latest developments as they become available.
