Rockets Waive Former Pistons Trade Target Marcus Thornton

Just before last week's trade deadline, Houston Rockets shooting guard Marcus Thornton thought he was going to be finding a new home.
Thornton thought that home was going to be Detroit after he was sent to the Pistons in a three team trade, but that deal was later voided because teammate Donatas Motiejunas couldn't pass a physical.
Thornton was waived by the Rockets on Friday, freeing him to sign with any team and still have eligibility for the playoffs.
The Pistons -- who are slim at shooting guard -- could still pursue Thornton for added depth. Thornton is averaging 10 points per game and shooting 33.8 percent for the 3-point line this season.
