Rochester Hills Motorcyclist Critically Injured In Crash
PONTIAC (WWJ) - A Rochester Hills man remains in critical condition Friday morning after he was thrown from his motorcycle in Pontiac.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said the 30-year-old was driving his motorcycle on East Walton near Baldwin around 2:48 p.m. Wednesday when a Chevy Malibu, driven by a 55-year-old Pontiac resident, turned in front of him into a grocery store parking lot.
Police say the motorcyclist crashed into the car and was thrown from his bike. He lost his helmet before landing on the sidewalk, according to police.
A Chevy Silverado, driven by a 47-year-old Auburn Hills resident, was waiting to exit onto Walton from the parking lot when it was hit by the Malibu after the initial crash, investigators said.
The motorcyclist was transported to McLaren Pontiac and later air-lifted to Royal Oak Beaumont where he is listed as being in critical condition.
The drivers of the Malibu and Silverado were not injured.
Police do not believe alcohol or speed were factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
