Robert Bobb Strikes Deal With Governor-elect Rick Snyder
Detroit Public Schools' Emergency Financial Manager, Robert Bobb, will stay on the job through the end of the current school year.
Bobb was appointed by Governor Granholm two years ago. His contract runs through March 2nd, but a spokesman for Governor-elect Rick Snyder says it just makes sense for Bobb to stay through the end of the academic year in June.
DPS spokesman Steve Wasko says the additional 120 days will enable Bobb to make a "fully smooth transition" to the next emergency financial manager or school superintendent.
Granholm put Bobb in charge of DPS finances after the district's deficit ballooned to close to $400 million.
