Robbery Suspect Found Hiding In Garbage Can
WYOMING, Mich. (WWJ/AP) - Police in western Michigan have given new meaning to taking out the trash.
Wyoming police officers were alerted of a robbery at an Admiral gas station around 1:30 a.m. Friday. When officers pulled into the parking lot to check out the situation, a man exited the store and began running.
A foot pursuit started and police confirmed the store clerk had been robbed at gunpoint. Police set up a perimeter in the area, and not long afterward found the 32-year-old Grand Rapids man hiding in a garbage can.
Police recovered an undisclosed amount of stolen cash, but not the weapon.
The man's name has not been released, but police say he is on parole, according to The Grand Rapids Press.
