Robbers Steal Watches Worth $100K In Somerset Collection Smash-And-Grab
TROY (WWJ) - Troy police are looking for two men wanted in a bold smash-and-grab robbery at Somerset mall.
Police say, at around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, the pair walked into the Omega store, at Somerset Collection South on Big Beaver Rd. When an employee asked if they needed help, they replied, "No," and proceeded behind a display case.
That's when police say one of the men pulled a small sledge-hammer from a shopping bag and proceeded to hit the glass case until it shattered.
The suspect with the sledge-hammer then grabbed four or five watches — valued at more than $100,000 — and both men fled the store.
The suspect with the sledge-hammer is described as around 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 175 lbs., while his accomplice was 5 feet, 8 inches tall and around 200 lbs.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Troy police at 248-524-3477.
Omega is high-end chain boutique selling designer watches, fine jewelry and leather goods.
