Road Rage Trial Wraps Up
Closing arguments will take place Tuesday in the case of a Farmington Hills man charged in a road rage incident.
The defendant, 28-year-old Carl Mintz ,was the last witness, telling jurors that he was afraid for his life when he fired a gun at another motorist.
He cried at times on the witness stand and testified that he was afraid for his life when he shot another motorist in the arm last April on Orchard Lake Road.
Mintz told jurors he had to brake twice because the car in front of him had stopped.
He said the driver behind him landed on the horn and that driver and his passengers waved their middle fingers at him and yelled obscenities. Mintz said, when they got out of their vehicle and approached his, he told them to get away.
He testified that one of them made a motion like he was going for a gun and that's when he shot him.
