Road Rage: Fowlerville Man Jailed After Allegedly Pointing Gun At Woman On I-96
BRIGHTON (WWJ) - A 34-year-old Fowlerville man is behind bars after authorities say he pointed a handgun at a woman in an apparent case of road rage.
Deputies with the Livingston County Sheriff's Office were called, at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, to the area of eastbound I-96 near M-59.
The alleged victim, a 32-year-old Fowlerville woman, had called 911 to report that a white male in a SUV had pointed a handgun at her while she was traveling on I-96. No shots were fired and no one was hurt.
The suspect in the vehicle described by the women was located by deputies along eastbound I-96 near US-23 and pulled over. Deputies found a gun in his vehicle that matched the weapon described by the 911 caller and the suspect, a 34-year-old Fowlerville man, was arrested.
Sheriff's officials did not immediately offer any details about what dispute the man, whose name has not been released, may have had with the other driver.
He remains lodged at the Livingston County Jail while prosecutors consider possible charges.
The Livingston County Sheriff's Office is being assisted by the Michigan State Police, Brighton Post, in this investigation.
