Reward Offered In Teen Murder Case
Sutton was shot in the head when a gunman fired on a car she was in with her boyfriend on Central Street near West Warren on the city's Southwest side. Her 22-year-old boyfriend was injured in the shooting, but was able to run to a nearby house for help.
Michigan State Police sergeant L. Drew says Sutton was not the intended victim.
"She was sitting with her boyfriend, and she was not the target of this shooting. The shotting was the result of a tit-for-tat in several other shootings," Sutton told WWJ Newsradio 950.
"Time has gone on. Several people have been arrested in other cases. Now, the police are looking for any information that can complete this puzzle," he said.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Sutton's mother Tamika Rainwater, gave a tearfull plea for help.
"I just wonder if anybody knows anything can they please... can they please help me with my closure," Rainwater said.
