Reward Offered In Murder Of Detroit Husband And Father
DETROIT (WWJ)- Robert Banks, also known as "Bump" was shot in his truck on December 28th, outside a home on Terry near Fenkell and Greenfield Road in Detroit, police say.
His wife Tiffany told WWJ's Zahra Huber she wants closure because the unknowns have been hard on her and their two young sons, 8 and 10 years old.
"My sons have to grow up without their father for the rest of their lives," Banks said. "I have to keep hearing, 'Why is it the first funeral we went to was our daddy?' 'Why was that our last Christmas with our daddy?'"
"Those are answers I cannot answer for them, and I feel so helpless. It hurts so bad," she said.
Tiffany is certain someone has knowledge of the killing, and says witnesses should put themselves in her shoes.
"I wish people could imagine seeing their husband, or their brother, or their friend or son be pulled out of a truck with his body lifeless, and put in a body bag," Banks said.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,500 reward for any tips that lead to an arrest. If you have any information, you're asked to call 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
