Reward Offered In Case Of Murdered Transgender Woman

DETROIT (WWJ) - Who killed Coco? Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,500 reward for information in the death of a transgender woman whose body was found outside a Detroit home last month.

Detroit police say 34-year-old Coco Williams, born Norman Williams, was found fatally shot on the morning of April 3  on West Parkhurst Street near 6 Mile Road and Woodward Ave.

Coco William's oldest sister Nedra Williams says Coco's death hit her hard.

"All of my family has always respected Coco in that nature and I protected Coco like my child for all these years," Williams told reporters Thursday. "And I feel like my child has been taken away ... my best friend has just been taken away."

Anyone with information can call Detroit Police or 1-800-SPEAK-UP. If the tip is called in by midnight Thursday, the reward will rise to $3,500. Tips may also be submitted online at www.1800speakup.org or by texting CSM and your tips to CRIMES (274637).

Tipsters who contact Crime Stoppers may remain anonymous and still receive the reward.
