Reward Offered In 5-Year Old Detroit Murder
DETROIT (WWJ) - CrimeStoppers of Michigan is offering a $2,500 reward for information about the murder of a South Lyon woman found dead on Detroit's east side more than five years ago.
Investigator Scott Shea says the body of 29-year-old Tabatha Cogar, better known as "Snow," was found in the early morning hours on Alcoy Street, south of Eight Mile Road.
"She was going to meet somebody. There's evidence to substantiate that there's a witness out there that could definitely help. And that's who we're trying to, you know, get this out there to," Shea told reporters.
"I don't have who the witness is, but there's evidence to prove that there was a witness there. Possibly, someone else may have been injured," he said.
Cogar's sister, Holly DeLong is pleading for the public's help.
"Just imagine if this was your child or your sister, your granddaughter -- and you don't get those calls anymore, just to say 'Hi... I love you, I miss you'," DeLong said.
"So, if anyone knows anything, please, please call," she said.
CrimeStoppers is offering an additional $1,000 if the anonymous tip is received before midnight, Wednesday at 1 (800) SPEAK-UP.
