Reward Offered For Tips In Deadly Triple-Shooting
DETROIT (WWJ) - CrimeStoppers is offering a reward for information about a triple shooting in Detroit this past January.
The families of three men gunned down at a house on Detroit's east side are hoping someone will come forward and help police track down whomever is responsible for their deaths.
WWJ's Pat Sweeting reports that it took Deloris Kirk a few minutes to get her emotions under control, Thursday, before she could talk about the death of her youngest son, 22-year old Jermaine.
"My son, he was loved and liked by everybody. Everybody loved my son," Kirk said, through tears.
"If anybody could do that to my child, that's wrong. It's so wrong. If anybody knows anything, please, just please... you don't even have to leave your name. Just, just call," she said.
Also killed were 24-year old Leon Grice and 19-year old Lynell Baskin Jr. It happened January 21 in a home on Faircrest near Seven Mile Road and Hayes.
Detroit Police homicide investigator Charles Weaver said it crime may have been drug-related.
"There were no signs of forced entry into the location. The investigation revealed that there was some level of narcotic sales that emanated from the location. There were also eleven dogs of pit bull breed that were retrieved from the location," Weaver said.
The dogs are now in the care of the Michigan Humane Society.
An award of up to $2,500 is being offered for tips that lead to an arrest in this case. Anyone who has information about this crime is asked to call 1-800-SpeakUp.
