Reward Increased In Ferndale Murder Case
FERNDALE (WWJ) - Family and friends of a Ferndale store owner murdered a year ago gathered Saturday evening and announced the reward for information leading to an arrest has been increased to 20,000 dollars.
The candlelight vigil outside the store included prayers, a musical tribute and a speech by Karim Khamarko's daughter Candace who said "the sad terrible truth is that our father's life ended for absolutely no reason."
Khamarko was murdered at his Dollar Plus store on Hilton November 26, 2010. The store remains closed.
"It's been a very hard year for my family and we just want the person who is responsible for this to be held accountable for what he did and we want justice for my dad," Candace said.
Anyone with information in the case should call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP.
