Reports: Sources Say Matthew Stafford Likely Out For Season

Speculation swirled Tuesday around Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford's injured shoulder, with two media reports suggesting he might be out the remainder of the season.

Lions officials were mum on whether results of an MRI test Monday indicated Stafford had suffered a Grade 3 separation, which would be more severe than the Grade 2 injury that forced him to miss five games earlier this year.

"We don't share results of MRIs or anything else with members of the media or anybody else other than the player and the staff here," Lions coach Jim Schwartz told WXYT on Tuesday. "He was very sore, and we'll get him back on the field as soon as we can.

"And that's been our approach with reporting injuries from the very beginning."
